This DIY kit helps you build a smart soil monitoring system that checks the moisture level of your plants and displays real-time results on an OLED display. The project uses an Arduino Nano to read moisture data and show animated smiley faces to indicate soil health — happy 😊 for optimal moisture, neutral 😐 for moderate levels, and sad ☹️ for dry soil. Working Principle
- 
The Soil Moisture Sensor measures soil’s water level and sends analog data to the Arduino Nano.
 - 
The OLED Display shows the live moisture percentage and an animated face representing the plant’s condition.
 - 
Based on pre-set thresholds, the Arduino updates the OLED readings dynamically — helping users decide when to water their plants.
 
Implementation
- 
Connect the soil moisture sensor to the Arduino (A0 input pin, VCC, GND).
 - 
Interface the OLED display using I2C pins (A4 – SDA, A5 – SCL).
 - 
Upload the Arduino sketch from the KitKraft project page (link below).
 - 
Place the sensor into the plant’s soil and monitor real-time readings.

Adjust threshold values in the code for different plant types.
